Phoenix Jacket Give Away Oct. 2024! Raven Rova X Ride The Warehouse
Updated Oct. 4, 2024. This article was originally published in Nov. 2021.
I just got back from San Diego, Ride To The Warehouse 2024! The first time they put the show on since 2021! I had a blast with the moto ladies from SoCal and all over the country last weekend. What a powerful, loving community we have! Back in Nov. '21 we raised $500 for Keep A Breast with this jacket!
Why do I have it ?
The winning bidder was my former spouse, a quirky dude from Canada. Now I find this funny...back then...let's just say I needed some time.
I'm giving the jacket away this October.
The Give Away will happen the week of Oct. 28.
That's a special day for 3 reasons: The inspiration for this jacket was my friend, Alex Cox, that's his birthday. He passed away after a courageous battle with colon cancer, he was 34.
It's the women who founded Ride To The Warehouse's birthday, she's a breast cancer survivor. We discovered our shared birthday doing this collaboration.
It's my birthday too. Alex and I were born within the same hour, same hospital in Madison, WI. Alex and my BFF, the talented artist who painted this got together in high school. I met the founder of RTW through a high school friend of hers, shortly after my crash. Small world, right ?
The love behind this jacket is really powerful! So, when my ex-hubs was the final bidder and sent it back to us, that was an unexpected twist! After some time to decompress, I'm determined to give this powerful, protective jacket away.
Size 14, fully loaded phoenix leather jacket!
The Inspiration
The Demon Jacket is dedicated to the memory of Alexander Cox. A brave, kind human who fought for his life with dignity and courage to the end. Sadly, colon cancer claimed his life just under 3 years ago. [5 years as of 10/2024] We honor his strength and courage with this demon.
We choose a demon to represent bravery because it's the conceptual fodder for Raven Rova. Ancient Tibeten warriors would worship venerated intestines to call up their battle demons for courage! When Karleen stumbled upon this research a few years ago, she knew it would be powerful. She presented the concept to Dank Widow, aka Katrina Harms in the wake of Alex's battle. As life long friends, the two women knew it would serve a higher power. So, when Ride To The Warehouse announced their 2021 show...they knew it was the perfect cause to support!
Let's kick some cancer ass and support these powerful warriors!
Oct. 4, 2024: Contest Entry Details coming soon!
This year, we donated a full Falcon Kit to Ride To The Warehouse 2024, it just happened Sept. 28 in San Diego! Blog article and delicious bike / art pics coming soon!
